Summer Running

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early so we can start running on time.

We plan to run in differrent locations during the summer so please check the web site for dates and locations.

Piner Cross Country will be hosting five Tuesday evening Summer Track Series events.
at Piner High School Track

June 15th
June 29th
July 13th
July 27th
August 10th

This is a benefit for Piner High Cross Country Team.
We will need 10 volunteers each week to help run the meets.
Start time will be 6:30pm, volunteers will need to arrive no later than 6:00pm.

Summer Camp

As many of you know, the campground loop we camped at last year has been closed due to State budget cuts. After a little research and a few trips up North to different campgrounds, we have choosen a campground and reserved our spaces! We will be camping at Hendy Woods State Park just outside of Boonville. It's about 1-1/2 from Piner High. The campground has lots of running/hiking trails, swimming in the Navarro River and new bathroom/shower facilities.

As per your request from the Camp Surveys, we will be staying an extra day this year. We have not yet determined the final cost, but we are considering $75 per athlete this year. Campsite costs have increased by 75% over last year's costs. What was $20 per campsite per day has increased to $35. Along with this increase we have added our extra day. This cost per athlete pays for the campsites and all food. As we did last year, Coaches Rosales will be donating the firewood and we will ask for volunteer drivers to help transport gear and athletes to and from camp.

We are looking forward to camp this year! We need to know who’s interested in attending so that we can determine our cost. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are a yes, no or a maybe.
